As an athlete, I understand the importance of eating good food to be able to perform well in competition. As a Christ-follower it is important to do the same in the competition called life.
In the Bible, the book of Matthew chapter four, verse four says, “Man should not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” We need spiritual food from God’s Word every day in order to face the challenges that come our way.
I believe that reading the Bible every day and learning the things that Jesus has taught us is the best way to get this spiritual food. If we do not eat we will not be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
God wants all of us to perform well in everything we do. Without God’s Son, Jesus Christ, in our hearts, we will starve.
